A site in Sengkang Central was just grabbed by the joint forces of CapitaLand and CDL

A site with a mixed destination, meaning that it offers both residential and commercial spaces, was just grabbed by a team formed out of CapitaLand and CDL. These two developers spotted the incredible potential of this site and decided that it is worth to join forces and get their hands on the deal. The tender price for this particular opportunity reached the sum of $777.78 million, but considering its location in Sengkang Central and the fact that transportation is great in the area, it is easy to understand that the site has an amazing potential.

What CapitaLand and CDL got is actually one of the biggest sites with a mixed usage awarded in this manner since 2015. The site has an impressive surface of 3.7 hectares and its developers have ambitious plans with it. They want to completely transform the site and turn it into a veritable community hub, which will include modern residential units and commercial spaces that will answer to the requirements of the area’s residents. The plan for the site is to make it house up to 700 new residential units while giving people the comfort of having in their neighborhood a hawker center, a variety of retail shops, a daycare center for children, a community hub, and multiple transportation options. When will the new location be ready? The developers said that their goal is to complete it and make it available until 2022.

 

If everything goes according to plan, then this Sengkang Central site will be the only residential and commercial hub in Singapore that will enjoy the outstanding connectivity offered by the Buangkok MRT Station, plus a bus station that is also planned to be created in the area. But, besides making sure that the site is properly connected with the rest of the island, the developers also want to give residents the change to walk around the neighborhood with ease and in a pleasant environment. Thus, a linear park and a garden ramp will increase the connectivity between the residential part of the neighborhood with the rest of the amenities. Practically, the partnership between CapitaLand and CDL wishes to bring something unique to the Buangkok neighborhood and turn this particular site into a veritable landmark.
